It's that time of year again. The folks at the Office of Letters and Light are once again running the year's best writing event: National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)
During the month of November, hundreds of thousands of writers all over the world will spend their days and/or nights writing away to produce 50,000 words each in just one month. The thrill of accomplishment! The camaraderie of fellow-writers! The cool winner's stuff!
We at Collier Bluff Books are happy to support NaNoWriMo. Our debut author, Kate Warren is a three-time winner. Kate says she writes more in November than at any other time of the year. NaNoWriMo helps her to focus and increase her productivity, and the sense of community offers a wonderful support network of others who are all going through the same challenge.
If you are interested in participating, or even learning more about NaNoWriMo, visit their website here: www.nanowrimo.org
In addition to NaNoWriMo, the OLL team also runs a Youth Writers Program that provides materials to classrooms throughout the country. Teachers and students alike have praised the program, in which the participants set their own wordcount goal for the month. Happy writing!
